Myna Wallin is a Toronto-based author and editor. She has her Masters degree in English Literature from U of T. She is the author of three chapbooks: Vulnerable Positions (2002), The Old Abandonment (2003), and Warning Signs (2005), all with believe your own press. Her first full-length poetry collection, A Thousand Profane Pieces, was published by Tightrope Books in Spring 2006.
Myna's poetry and prose have been published in numerous literary journals and anthologies, including The Algonquin Square Table Anthology, Contemporary Verse 2, Existere, eye weekly, Kiss Machine, The Literary Review of Canada, Matrix, Misunderstandings Magazine, Nod, Surface and Symbol, Taddle Creek, and Word: Canada's Magazine for Readers and Writers.
For the past five years, Myna has hosted "In Other Words" on CKLN 88.1 FM, interviewing authors from across Canada. Myna was the co-organizer of the Toronto Small Press Book Fair from 2006-2008, and was an organizer and host of the Art Bar Poetry Series from 2007-2010. Myna was the Poetry Editor for Tightrope Books from 2007-2010. She edited Sandra Kasturi's The Animal Bridegroom, Phoebe Tsang's Contents of a Mermaid's Purse, and co-edited with Alex Boyd, I.V. Lounge Nights. She also co-edited In The Dark: Stories from the Supernatural, and Ian Burgham's The Stone Skippers, both with Halli Villegas.
Confessions of a Reluctant Cougar was launched at Proof Vodka Bar on June 23, 2010, and is now available in bookstores across Canada. It's stocked in most Chapters/Indigo stores, most Book City locations, World's Biggest Bookstore, at TYPE Books, and online at Amazon.
